Downsizing Made Easier

Last year, Homewood began offering a series of free downsizing and relocation seminars to future residents. Since then, we have had 15 seminars with over 300 attendees! Our guest speakers have included senior living specialists who focus on downsizing and transitioning, real estate, estate auctions, interior decorating, moving and packing, and financial planning. Attendees are getting a great head start on downsizing by hearing tips that will make their move stress free and smooth.

We are continuing our series this fall, offering five weeks of seminars on Thursday afternoons at The Lodge. Our first program kicks off on September 15 at 1 o’clock and continues each week through October 13. All seniors are welcome to attend – and we will have Lodge apartment and patio home tours available following each seminar for those who would like to take a look around the campus. Our fall presenters include:

Sept. 15: Joe Pence, Senior Moving Consultant with JK Moving Services, provides "Tips on Selecting a Mover and Preparing for Your Move"

Sept. 22: Matt Hurley, founder and auctioneer at Hurley Auctions, discusses "Complete Estate Liquidation Services, including Real Estate"

Sept. 29: Ryan Burns, president and owner of Stress Free Solutions, takes your questions on how to begin the downsizing process and presents "Solutions for a Stress Free Move"

Oct. 6: Donna Eichelberger, senior living specialist with Graceful Transitions shares tips in "Embracing the Journey of Downsizing"

Oct. 13: Chris Murray, owner of Murray Financial Services, answers your questions and discusses tips on retirement income and safeguarding your investments.
