Frederick County Career and Technology Center Recognizes Homewood at Frederick's Committment to the Community
On August 11, 2021, Homewood at Frederick's Executive Director, Karen Main, Director of Nursing, Vicki Keriakos, and Human Resource Director, Samantha Turner provided an externship for the teachers and support staff of the Frederick County Career and Technology Center (CTC) for the Frederick County public schools.
The Homewood staff spoke to the group about how the industry is changing and the struggles Homewood and other facilities face within the long term care industry. They provided information about what Homewood is seeing now as far as needs in the industry, and what Homewood as a health care provider is looking for from individuals in the workforce. As CTC prepares students for the workforce, this shared information was helpful.
Homewood at Frederick and CTC are continuing to find ways to work together and develop additional internships in other departments. Homewood currently is involved in the Allied Health Nursing Assistance program.
