Homewood at Frederick Welcomes New Foundation President!

Homewood at Frederick is pleased to be working with the new president of Homewood Retirement Centers' Foundation. J.D. Shuman is all about building relationships and as the new leader of Homewood Retirement Centers’ Foundation, relationships will be his first priority. Shuman will take over the Foundation reins in September after serving 10 years with the Asbury Foundation, the fund-raising arm of Asbury Communities. There is nothing more fun than a little friendly competition! Two of our sister campuses, Homewood at Plum Creek located in Hanover, PA and Homewood at Spring House Estates located in Everett, PA both came to play a water volleyball with the residents at Homewood at Frederick. Homewood at Frederick is pleased to announce that the next phase of Patio Homes to be constructed is fully leased. The new phase, Phase IV, includes 8 new patio homes with Chesapeake and Potomac floorplans. Lifetime leases for these homes will offer a fully refundable entrance fee of $25,000 and a monthly fee. Homes in this new phase are expected to be ready for occupancy Spring 2018.

Karen Main of Frederick, Maryland has been named Executive Director of Homewood at Frederick. She will oversee the operations of Homewood at Crumland Farms as well as Homewood at Willow Ponds.

My husband and I moved to our Willow Ponds patio home at Homewood Frederick in May 2016. However, when I fell and broke my hip in December 2014, the surgeon who performed a total hip replacement explained that there was a chip/hairline fracture in my femur and I could not put full body weight on my left leg. He recommended a rehab facility for inpatient therapy.

Homewood recently expanded its Passport Program for future residents by adding a link on our website to all upcoming events that are open to Members. Passport program members are those who have submitted an application for residency at Homewood and are waiting to move in. All applicants are given the opportunity to come to campus for select events, dining experiences and other activities as scheduled.
